Tyler E. Jaworski
Tyler Jaworski was born and raised in Connecticut, often spending weekends in the mountains of Vermont with family and friends.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting and Economics from the University of Vermont, Tyler moved to Boston to pursue a career in technology and later on, commercial real estate—working closely with clients from international companies to help solve mission-critical challenges. Longing for an opportunity to explore his entrepreneurial and creative interests while following his passion for the outdoors, Tyler headed west to Jackson, Wyoming—a unique mountain town rich with culture.
He was introduced to Charleston, South Carolina when a friend sought his expertise to expand a logistics company specializing in high-end furniture. Continuing to seek opportunities to utilize his creativity, Tyler discovered a new passion—fine woodworking. "I was constantly around exquisite pieces of handmade furniture,” he explains. “It was my world at the time. I viewed it as an art form, more than ‘simply furniture.’ I became intrigued by the idea of making a piece for myself. I knew the endeavor wouldn’t be easy, but I have been building and restoring things for enjoyment my entire life. Even more, I was fascinated by Charleston’s rich history of cabinetmaking. The challenge of making a table out of reclaimed wood—repurposing and preserving a piece of history—was exciting. I made this challenge a reality when I drove to Walterboro, South Carolina and pulled six 12-foot wall boards from a retired mule barn built in the early 1930s.”
Today, out of his Charleston workshop, Tyler creates custom designed furnishings—from coffee and dining tables to credenzas—in a variety of woods and finishes. He has cultivated a high-end clientele who seek out his pieces which are handmade, yet sophisticated and sleek. In the fall of 2018, Tyler launched a lighting collection of hand-hewn floor and table lamps. Word of Tyler’s talent has begun to spread through the design community, and as his business continues to grow, he remains dedicated to preserving and sharing the art of handcrafting furniture.
